So you got really into the World Cup but don’t know enough about the Euro Cup to care? You should read this. 

ABC & ESPN will air EVERY SINGLE GAME of Euro 2012… Here is why:

Everyone knows the World Cup is the biggest soccer tournament in the world. I’m here to tell you that the Euro Cup is also a BIG FUCKING DEAL. It’s the only other time European NATIONAL teams square off against each other in a meaningful fashion; and at this sport, European countries are the best in the world.

It’s basically the same thing as the World Cup except without Brazil… and you don’t have to wait a few years to watch it. EURO 2012 is literally happening right now!

Like the World Cup, the Euro Cup is only played once every four years, and unlike the financially driven CLUB TOURNAMENTS you’ve heard of (Champions League, Premiere League, etc.)… the only thing at stake here is country pride; and to these countries that means EVERYTHING. You’ll notice even the jerseys are focused. No sponsorship on the chest… just a color, a number, a name, and a patch.

(Note: The Olympics enforce significant age limitations on players so, to be honest, people don’t really care about Olympic soccer)

In the two games this Saturday… all four teams are among the 10 best in the world. Promise me you’ll watch, and I promise you’ll be hooked.
