Mixtape: Spangled
A brand new mixtape to help score your Independence Day celebrations.

We have reached that mysterious point of the season when summer all-at-once feels like it has just begun and is almost over. The daunting heat has set in, Independence Day has all but arrived, and the Midsummer Classic is just around the corner. There’s a lot going on in the next couple days. Do you have all the supplies for your Fourth of July barbecue, yet? Only the ketchup? Yikes. Well, don’t worry. There may be a lot of things on your figurative plate (work, errands) that you need to deal with before you can properly deal with all the things on your literal plate (burgers, ‘dogs) this Wednesday; but I have you covered… at least in regard to music.
Spangled is one CD-R’s worth of churning, electric guitar-driven, summertime rock music. It includes a lot of new songs (some previously mentioned as Possible Candidates For The Song Of Summer 2012), but is also peppered with select songs from summers past. You can’t have a proper Independence Day celebration without the proper soundtrack. Here’s one to help kickstart the festivities.
You can either listen/subscribe to the mix on Spotify or stream it through 8tracks. However you take it, enjoy it. And if you love Spangled and need a little more music to fuel the long weekend, don’t forget about Super Free Weekends, a mixtape of summertime music recently prepared for Memorial Day weekend.
